Marlowe Carruth is an American classically trained pianist, composer, and music educator  known for creating inspirational, soul-lifting contemporary classical melodies.

Having played the piano since the age of three, Marlowe has spent the majority of her adult life singing and playing for various churches, as well as teaching piano.  In more recent years, she turned her attention to fulfilling her dream of composing music.

She released her debut EP, Eternal Light, in 2016.  It consists of original, uplifting piano pieces accompanied by equally inspirational orchestration.  Eternal Light earned Marlowe a nomination for Best New Artist, by Enlightened Piano Radio. She performed at the EPR awards ceremony in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry in October, 2017.

Since then, she has continued to release many singles on digital platforms and is set to release her first full Christmas album in 2026.

In 2023, Marlowe's composition, Pregando , was chosen by a blind judging panel to be included in a special anthology entitled 22 Nocturnes for Chopin by Women Composers, published by EVC Music in the UK.  She traveled to London for the book's release and heard her piece, among others, performed in Steinway Hall by the billiant Rose MCLachlan.

Marlowe earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance and music education at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, and was honored by the faculty with the title of Presser Scholar, an award given to the most outstanding senior music major.

Daughter of the late Cherry Folger (trumpet player, Founder of the Darlinettes, and orchestrator for Terrytunes Cartoons ), Marlowe’s desire to compose was birthed at a very young age.  Her talented mother died of cancer when Marlowe was barely four years old.

She explains, “Exploring my mother’s compositions was a way to feel connected to her and learn from her musicianship.  I have always wanted to pick up her legacy.”

Marlowe currently resides in Charlotte, NC, with her husband, Robby.  They have two grown children and are enjoying being grandparents. Music continues to run in the family!
